How to apply
To apply, you must meet the qualification as following :
- You must be a native English speaker from one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK, or the USA.
- You must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in any major (subject). Sometimes Education and English majors with TESOL certificate preferred but not necessary.
* Two or three year's college graduates (AA/AS degree holders) are not entitled to the work visa even though you have a TESOL certificate.
However, if you meet the qualifications you can simply fill out application form on our website or you can also apply by sending an e-mail requesting a
job placement along with your resume and photo. The photo that will be sent to your school along with your resume should be a picture of you in business
dress. ESL Communications will contact (e-mail and / or call) you to discuss about your placement. We will do our best to match you with the kind of school
you are looking for. We will set up a phone interview with your matched school. If you and the school are both happy, then work visa application process shall
begin soon after you signed the contract.

Required documents
Once the contract is signed, you must send these required documents to assist your work visa application.
(You have to use courier services such as DHL, FedEx or UPS only.
Please e-mail us the tracking number for your FedEx, DHL or UPS parcel.)
- Signed original contract papers
- Your original Bachelor¡¯s degree certificate or a copy that has an Apostille seal on it.
- Sealed and STAMPED transcripts in a university envelope (Must not open in any case once SEALED) (You need to get 3 sets of transcripts, one of which you will need to send to the school for visa application. The remaining transcripts might be used for visa issuance process at Korean consulate in your country).
- Your passport should be valid for the minimum period of 6 months before starting your school
- 4 recent passport sized photos
- Recent resume (CV)
- Apostilled Criminal background check (For Canadian national, you should have
criminal background check notarized at Korean Consulate)
- Applicant`s Health Statement
Obtaining work visa
To obtain a work visa, It normally takes about 12-20 working days to obtain an E-2 visa after the school receives the required documents from you and submits the documents to the Immigration office in S. Korea. Once we received the required documents, then we will begin to process your work visa. The school will
submit the documents to the Immigration Office and in about 7 or 10 working days of time, a visa issuance number will be issued and sent to you.
On receiving your visa issuance number, you will have to send your documents to the nearest Korean Consulate or Embassy or you can bring the
documents to the Korean Consulate or Embassy. You can bring the documents to the Korean Consulate or Embassy in person if you like.

It is essential that you should make a phone call before heading to a Korean Consulate or Embassy. If it is too far to get to a Korean Consulate
from where you live, then you can use a courier services to have your work visa stamped on your passport.
Please don't forget to ask for a return envelope when you go to FedEx, DLH or UPS so that your documents will be sent back to you in a timely manner. Not paying for a return envelope will slow down the process.
On the way to Korea
After the work visa is sorted out, we will assist you with purchasing the airplane ticket, which will be arranged through our travel agency regardless of
whoever pays for the ticket. If you pay for your ticket, you will be reimbursed after you arrive. A small number of schools may pay for your ticket up front.
When you arrive, you will be picked up by your school staff and taken to your accommodation. You must be registered at the immigration office for an alien
card within 90 days of your arrival in Korea. Your school will assist you with this process.
Urgent work visa process
There are times when schools would need a teacher urgently. In this case a teacher might be asked to come to Korea on tourist visa. On this occasion, you
should come to Korea with all the required documents in order to apply for the work visa in Korea. Once your visa issuance number is issued, you will be
going to Japan where you will be given work visa at a Korean Consulate. Your school will provide all the necessary information on this program and
will pay the necessary expenses for this trip.
